Formation:

Verb-dictionary form + だけは + (same) Verb-casual, past

Example sentences:

覚えるだけは覚えたのだから、後は試験の日を待つだけだ。
I’ve remembered everything I could, so now all I have to do is wait for the day of the test to come.
oboeru dake wa oboeta no dakara, ato wa shiken no hi o matsu dake da.

わたしは助けるだけは助けてやったのだ。
I did all I could to help.
watashi wa tasukeru dake wa tasukete yatta no da.

恋愛のことは両親にも話すだけは話しました。
I told my parents everything about my love life.
renai no koto wa ryoushin ni mo hanasu dake wa hanashimashita.

指示のとおりにやるだけはやったが、いい結果が出るかどうか自信がない。
I followed the instruction and did all that I could, but I have no confidence that I’ll have good results.
shiji no toori ni yaru dake wa yatta ga, ii kekka ga deru ka dou ka jishin ga nai.

彼の話を聞くだけは聞いても悪いことはないわね。
There’s no harm in hearing his story.
kare no hanashi o kiku dake wa kiite mo warui koto wa nai wa ne.
