Meaning: to assume; to suppose

Formation:

Verb-casual + ものとして

Example sentences:

なにも知らないものとして教えてくれたまえ。
Answer me as though I knew nothing.
nanimo shiranai mono to shite oshiete kure tamae.

 

わたしはいないものとして話を進めてください。
Please assume that I’m not here and continue your conversation.
watashi wa inai mono to shite hanashi o susumete kudasai.

 

木村さんはもう来ないものとして、始めましょう。
Let’s presume that Kimura’s not coming and start without him.
kimurasan wa mou konai mono to shite, hajimemashou.
