A child (子) born to a Japanese house (宀) is usually given Kanji characters for his/her name.

EXAMPLE SENTENCES:

shii wa nan no ryakuji darou.
What does C stand for?

彼女は自分の頭文字を壁に書いた。
kanojo wa jibun no kashiramoji o kabe ni kaita.
She wrote her own initial on the wall.

文字がゆっくりと現われてきた。
moji ga yukkuri to arawarete kita.
Words formed themselves slowly.

これはきっと字引を見て書いたのだと思う。
kore wa kitto jibiki o mite kaita no da to omou.
I’m sure the word was taken out of a dictionary.

So you took the name of the county as a surname for your son.
