Formation:

Phrase 1 + そうすると + phrase 2

Example sentences:

よく温泉に入ってから石鹸で体を洗う人がいますが、そうすると、温泉の成分が落ちてしまって、せっかく温泉に来たのに、意味がありません。
yoku onsen ni haitte kara sekken de karada o arau hito ga imasu ga, sou suru to, onsen no seibun ga ochite shimatte, sekkaku onsen ni kita noni, imi ga arimasen.
There are people who use soap to wash their bodies after entering the hot spring. However, if they do so they will also wash away the component of the hot spring, which makes their trip there meaningless.

そうすると彼は、目の前にあったペンを手にとってなにやらメモし始めた。
sou suru to kare wa, me no mae ni atta pen o te ni totte nani yara memoshi hajimeta.
Having done that, he grabbed the pen in front of him and started writing something.

そうすると、あなたもやはり医学のほうをおやりですか?
sou suru to, anata mo yahari igaku no hou o oyari desu ka.
You are yourself, I presume, a medical man?

もともと家の周りじゅうに庭のスペースをとるのが夢だったんだ。でも、そうすると、家が小さくなりすぎて。
motomoto ie no mawarijuu ni niwa no supeesu o toru no ga yume dattan da. demo, sou suru to, ie ga chiisaku narisugite.
From the beginning I’ve always wanted to make a garden around the house. But if that was done, the house would be too small.
