耐える (taeru)

彼女が恐怖のあまり力を使いはたして参っていたから、まわりのものが不甲斐ないのは耐えられなかった。
kanojo ga kyoufu no amari chikara o tsukaihatashite maitte ita kara, mawari no mono ga fugainai no wa taerarenakatta.
She was too exhausted and weak from fright to tolerate weakness in anyone else.

由美子は、この思い出に耐えられず、そのまま泣きくずれてしまった。
