Formation:

Verb-casual + 折に(は)
Noun + 折に(は)

Example sentences:

彼が二年前に日本へきた折に会いました。
kare ga ni’nen mae ni nihon e kita ori ni aimashita.
I met him two years ago when he came to Japan.

御多忙の折に、わたしのために色々とお骨折り下さって、まことにありがとうございます。
gotabou no ori ni, watashi no tame ni iroiro to ohoneori kudasatte, makoto ni arigatou gozaimasu.
Thank you so much for all you have done in this busy time.

婚約の折に夫に買ってもらった指輪をなくしてしまった。
kon’yaku no ori ni otto ni katte moratta yubiwa o nakushite shimatta.
I lost the ring my husband bought me for our engagement.

来日の折には、わたしがご案内します。
rainichi no ori niwa, watashi ga goannai shimasu.
I’ll show you around when you come to Japan.
